Day 1Unveiling Lake Manyara’s Secrets
Our adventure begins in Arusha, Tanzania’s safari capital, where you’ll be picked up in your private 4×4 Jeep. As you depart, keep your eyes peeled for majestic Mount Meru, the fifth-highest mountain in Africa, rising majestically in the distance.
En route to Lake Manyara National Park, you’ll traverse a ribbon of road that snakes along the base of the escarpment, offering panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley. Be on the lookout for troops of playful baboons with their mischievous antics and blue monkeys swinging through the acacia trees. Watch out for herds of wildebeest and zebra grazing on the plains, their black and white stripes a stark contrast against the golden savanna.
Energize for the day with a delightful bush breakfast under the shade of an acacia tree.
Embark on your first African safari adventure! Lake Manyara National Park, a slender strip of land nestled between the escarpment and the lake, boasts diverse ecosystems. Explore the lush groundwater forest, teeming with birdlife, and keep an eye out for shy elephants and buffaloes hidden amongst the trees. As you venture into the vast floodplain, watch for the park’s legendary tree-climbing lions – a sight unique to Tanzania and Uganda.
Dinner and overnight stay at a charming lodge nestled within the park.
